Leroux has done a fantastic job of putting elements of romance, mystery, horror, drama, and adventure into his story, producing a brilliant novel that has lasted many years and will be read over and over by book-lovers. Abraham Bram Stoker (8 November 1847 – 20 April 1912) was an Irish writer of novels and short stories, who is best known for his 1897 horror novel Dracula. Mary Shelley was born in 1797, the only daughter of writers William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin. In 1814 she eloped with poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, whom she married in 1816.

She is best remembered as the author of Frankenstein, but she wrote several other works, including Valperga and The Last Man. She died in 1851. A Gothic classic. Victor-Marie Hugo (26 February 1802 – 22 May 1885) was a French poet, playwright, novelist, essayist, visual artist, statesman, human rights activist and exponent of the Romantic movement in France. In France, Hugos literary reputation rests primarily on his poetic and dramatic output and only secondarily on his novels.

Outside France, his best-known work is the novel Notre-Dame de Paris (sometimes translated into English as The Hunchback of Notre Dame). Marie Adelaide Belloc Lowndes most famous novel is The Lodger, published in 1913. Based on the Jack the Ripper murders, it is about a London family who suspects that their upstairs lodger is a mysterious killer known as The Avenger.

The novel was the basis for four movie adaptions. It was made into a movie by Alfred Hitchcock in 1927, by Maurice Elvey in 1932, John Brahm in 1944, and as Man in the Attic in 1953. * Search C.M. Harbin in Kindle Books for more Classic Collections!
